This session will introduce participants to the basics of behavior management. Session content will enable participants to determine why a particular is occurring, and offer interventions to support behavior management.

  • 4 Goals/objectives participants will gain from attending

            Participants will be able to:

            *Define A, B, & C.

*Describe how the “ABC’S” are related to behavior management.

*List the main four reasons people engage in specific behaviors.

*List strategies to shape behavior.

  • The Alaska Early Learning Guidelines (ELG) the training addresses

            Children demonstrate awareness of behavior and its effects

*Learns consequences of a specific behavior, but may not understand why the behavior warrants the consequence

* Recognizes that inappropriate behavior will elicit corrective action or unhappiness from adults

*Demonstrates understanding of the consequences of own actions on others
