A message about COVID-19

Hello,

Out of abundance of caution, LINKS will no longer be providing services in person. As the COVID-19 outbreak has progressed, it has been shown to be most dangerous to seniors and people with complex medical conditions. This describes the majority of our clients. LINKS wants to make sure that we take every precaution to protect those we serve. Effective 3/11/2020, all LINKS staff will work with clients over the phone, through webinar, or other means that are not in person.

This will ensure we are not putting clients and staff at risk. We will no longer do in person home visits, IEP meetings, trainings, health fairs, etc. and will utilize technology and other means to continue operations. Walk-ins will have their name and phone number collected and someone will call them shortly to provide assistance. I know this is less than ideal, but it will provide needed services in a way that protects the most vulnerable.

Because this is a dynamic situation, LINKS is preparing for a myriad of situations, and in all of those plans, we will continue to provide services to connect and inform our community. I recognize that this is a trying time for those we serve and our many partners. Please keep calm, wash your hands, and if you become aware of a need in the community, let us know.

We will continue to rely on Centers For Disease Control and the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services for information and recommendations on how to respond and to best serve our community.

As always if you have questions, please call us at 907-373-3632.
